IES Accreditation SchemeAccreditation Process

Application
The IES accreditation scheme seeks to avoid duplication by linking to the current developments in higher education quality management and enhancement (i.e. Benchmark Statements, Programme Specifications and Codes of Practice). Consequently, the application form consists of two sections.

Section A seeks information on the general aims of the programme.

Section B concentrates on the development of environmental professional outcomes within the programme. The aggregate word limit for sections A and B is a maximum of 2000 words.

Cost
The initial cost of accrediting a single programme is £250, with a charge of £50 required for each additional Honours or Masters programme. The Higher Education Institute should determine what constitutes a programme. In cases where referral and a visit is necessary, there will be an additional charge of £300 plus expenses. An annual fee of £150 covers administration for the production and supply of graduate certificates.
