The Senior Acoustic Consultant will be responsible for;

A long established waste company, well known in the region, is currently undergoing a major operational review. This will result in enhanced efficiency and improved business processes therefore they are now seeking a Site Operations Manager to maintain and improve site performance. 

This is a critical role for the success of the business and the key focus of the roll will be health and safety, environmental performance, people management, cost, and efficiency. A senior management role this position will report directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

• Day to day people management of over 20 staff including responsibility for their health and safety
•  Ensuring the smooth management and regular maintenance of plant and machinery including two sorting lines 
•  Management of site budget and the monitoring and improvement of extraction rates 
•  Maintaining all site documentation
• Liaising with third parties including partnership companies, local councils, and the Environment Agency

This will be a demanding role working in a high pressure environment. There is large scale investment planned so the successful candidate
will take a pragmatic approach to site management.

The successful candidate will have:

•  Proven experience in a site management role in a waste / recycling environment
•  Knowledge of and the ability to manage a budget and all onsite documentation
•  Strong people management skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of interest groups
•  A strong practical background in and knowledge of health and safety legislation

Those with a WAMITAB qualification and a background in engineering or technical discipline would be of particular interest.

This role will require a self starter who can lead a team by example. You will be expected to approach your work with a ‘can do’ attitude, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions. Strong communication skills are a must.

Within the UK retail market waste and recycling is currently one of the highest profile issues, in which million of pounds of investment is spent every year. The reputational and financial impacts of not implementing the best solution can be severe.
 
 
One of the most respected retailers in the UK is now looking to recruit two Recycling Operations Managers to oversee the in store recycling. One position will focus across the north and one in the south of the UK. With over 2000 sites nationwide, this role will focus particularly on the implementation of a new recycling technology which is critical for the organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring collection efficiency and costs across the stores are as low as possible through effective scheduling
• Managing store and collection issues across the region specifically in regards to contamination
• Liaise with third party collection suppliers
• Ensuring the maintenance and upgrade of recycling machinery
• Looking to market trends and customer uptake to enhance future direction of recycling initiatives

This position will require a background including both recycling and retail experience. The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in a leadership position within the retail operations environment
• Proven experience dealing with third party suppliers
• Ability to communicate ideas across a large number of sites with anumber of stakeholders
• Experience of the waste / recycling sector  

This will be a demanding role; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think on your feet is essential. You will be communicating ideas with to a number of interest groups including customers, senior management, and third party suppliers, and an ability to adapt communication style is essential.    

The role will require extensive travel of the UK, therefore a valid UK drivers licence is required.
