Membership Grades

Grades of Membership Professional (voting) membership grades

Fellow (FIEnvSc)
Fellowship is for Members who have achieved distinction in the environmental sciences profession. Fellowship would normally require a further seven years experience beyond that required to become a Member. Application can be made subsequent to joining the Institution. No one will be admitted directly as a Fellow.

Member (MIEnvSc)
This grade is for those who have achieved the professional experience comparable with chartered status in other professions.  Normally a Member would have cumulated at least four years of professional work, either in, or related to, environmental science.

Associate (AMIEnvSc)
For those holders of relevant and acceptable degrees or equivalent qualifying experience.  Often this covers those starting out in the environmental sciences sector.

Non- Professional (non-voting) membership grades

Affiliate Member For those with no qualifications or below HNC/HND, including some students.
