Burntwood Lecture 2008
The Institution's annual Burntwood Lecture took place on November 12th at The Royal Society in London. Tony Juniper, a journalist, campaigner and formerly Director of Friends of the Earth, delivered a lecture on "Prospects for a Sustainable Society: What is the correct role for science?". The evening also included the presentation of the John Rose Award given to Samantha Lawrence of the University of Hertfordshire. The Award includes a grant of £1000 to support the publicising of her research project on non-exhaust emissions. A summary of her research can be found in the presentation below.
